Plastics are an unspectacular part of our everyday lives and are everywhere: whether turning off the alarm in the morning, flicking the light switch, or packing a snack for when you're out and about, it doesn't take long to find examples. Due to the single use of plastic packaging and microplastics in clothing, plastic now has a bad reputation. Nevertheless, this material can be sustainable over the long term, as it can be produced with a low use of resources and has a long service life.

The important role of nitrogen in the production and processing of high-quality plastics is worth mentioning. Here it contributes to strength, protects against discoloration, and is used for cooling and as a protective gas. It is therefore indispensable in the plastics industry and the production of polyester, polymers, and carbon fibers.

However, the necessary high nitrogen purity cannot be guaranteed in N2 standard production. The nitrogen produced is contaminated with residual moisture and oxygen. The reliable ReiCat Gas Purification Units use the CatOx process to remove oxygen and moisture. The gas purity is improved to 99.999%. These Gas Purification Units work without regeneration loss.

The exemplary illustration shows a 1500 Nm³/h N2 Purification Unit with a footprint of approx. 15 m². Its convincing advantages: The nitrogen required for plastics production can be obtained in low and favorable quality, it is purified directly at the point of use and is therefore available in improved quality. The fully automatic operation is impressive and a gas purification system pays off for itself.
